Things in my handbag!
11/29/2006 04:49:00 PM

Okay, so everyone knows I carry around a Mary Poppins handbag. I thought I might blog the contents. Cos I'm bored. And I can.

Here's a list of the essential things that I need in my handbag, in no particular order:

1. Lucas' Paw Paw Ointment - The best thing to happen to lips. I will never ever use any other lip product because this is just amazing stuff. When I ran out of it for a few weeks, my lips were so dry even if I was using another good lip balm. I thought I could live without it but I was wronggggg! I bought a new tube and my lips have never cracked or peeled since. And it's also good for mozzie bites and cuts and grazes.

2. Nokia 6820 - My (new) phone. I feel unsafe and a strange feeling of something absolutely terrible is going to happen to me if I don't have my phone with me. My tyre is going to puncture on the freeway and I'll be fucked, or an emergency at home and I won't be able to know, etc etc. This is how reliant I have become! What did people do when mobiles weren't around! Has an awesome camera on it too so I'm never without a camera now BUAHAHAHA. I still do carry my camera around, neways.

3. Wallet - Money, cards, petrol discount dockets, etc, y'know... the usual.

4. Ralph by Ralph Lauren "Goodbye Dry" Moisturising Lotion - Comes in a small tube, smells just like the Ralph fragrance that I use as a hand cream most of the time or on my legs when I decide that they are a bit dry. Since its fragranced, it's like putting on perfume at the same time.

5. Silicone Glove by Avon - Another tube of handcream (haha) for when I want a fragrance free 'hand protector'. This handcream protects your hands for when your hands are subject to harsh substances, etc.

6. Pink Decor Drink bottle - I almost always carry a bottle of water with me. This is my trusted bottle! Hhehehe.

7. Filofax - Yeah, I need it sometimes.

8. Hardcase notebook with pen device - Whatever you call it. Its a silver flip thing that looks like a business card holder but its a notebook and you open it by sliding the pen out. Yeh, cool. For times when I need to write down stuff. Since its silver, I use the thing as a mirror too.

9. iPod with iTrip - Speaks for itself. But its often out of battery... hmm...

10. Earphones - For when I'm not in the car!!

11. Sony Cybershot T10 - Small and compact yet powerful camera. :D

12. Panty liners - The ladies will understand that this is a important measure.

13. Wrigley's Eclipse Cinnamon Mints - I never was a fan of mint flavoured mints. But now they have cinnamon, this is always with me. For "powerful fresh breath"!!!

14. Tissues - Yeah, tish.

Mmmm... yeah, that's about it. Sometimes I'll carry around a coloured lip gloss for when I am out somewhere fancy and need to 'touch those lips up' with something other than the great LPO. And the occasional facial compact.

Wow, how exciting is this post??

I saw BORAT last nite!!! Omg the funniest film ever. Man I split my sides laughing the whole time. Actually... maybe with my hands over my mouth in complete shock the entire time. Ohhh man. Dat was sum funny shit, yahhh. I'll watch it forever!

Tonite I'm going to the Belgian Beer Garden with uni friends to celebrate 'the release of results'... should be out tonite, hopefully.

AND MAN, what's with Melbourne copping all the shitt Myspace secret gigs??? Sydney got LYRICS BORN and YOU AM I. What did Melbourne get? JET and SANDI THOM (please refer to my post below titled "stupid"). God damn. Someone send some culture down here will they?!?!?

xoxo

All toasty tanned :)
11/26/2006 09:26:00 PM

Ahhhh... I just had a shower and I'm tanned up something awesome. You don't realise how much you've tanned til you get home and see yourself in a mirror that you always see yourself in! That and of course tan lines :P Of which I have some :P :P

I went away to Lake Eildon this weekend to Ben's houseboat with some friends. Ick, I'm sitting here and losing some balance (not physically, but my mind feels like i'm swaying from side to side and rocking backwards and forwards) cos I've been on water the whole weekend. This is my 3rd time up to Eildon and I'm still trying to find my landlegs!! I'm hopeless!

It was an awesome weekend and I met lots of cool new peeps. Also went on a jet ski again, after about... hmmm... 10 years or so? Was ages since I've been on a jet ski! Ben took me around for a hell of spin and the second time I slid right off whilst he was doing some crazy donuts. The incident has left an awesome bruise on the inside of my right knee. It is fucking mad. It's some odd shape... almost like a marijuana leaf, the border is some dark red spots and surrounded by some blue/green/black tinge. The size is about 10cm x 5cm. Atleast I have a cool story behind this bruise: Fell off a jetski. Rather than something lame like walking into a coffee table.

My Bruise.

Anyways... so after falling off the jetski I've been a bit freaked but still willing to go again (it's so much fun). Today, however, in the morning I was trying to work up a tan so there was some tanning oil around and i put some on my arms, stomach and legs... and then Ben goes "Do you want to go on the jetski?" and I'm like "UH HUH!". Bad idea because I was slipping absolutely everywhere. I was holding on for my dear life! My arms, stomach and legs were like aching like crazy after. But it was fun!

Yesterday I tried waterskiing again after failing miserably earlier this year. That was because the lifejacket and the skis were way too big for me. Instead of waterskiing, I was face was skidding along the surface of the water. Not a great sport. ANYWAYS, so I had another go yesterday and I was given a really small life jacket and JUNIOR skis (on the smallest shoe size too). Am I small or what? Anyways, these skis were sooo much easier to control but I still couldn't get up standing. I had massive issues trying to get my skis balanced. It's a lot harder than it looks!! Still, amidst a bunch of waterskiing experts, I felt like the biggest unc.

So today I was on 'training wheels' and got put on this training bar that stuck out to the side of the speed boat and had like metal handles. I got standing on that and I was SKIING, baby. It was sooo much easier on the training bar than on the rope at the back of the boat. So after a couple of tries on the training bar to get a hang of the 'feel', I was back on the ropes again. Tried like 7 times or so and got standing on one of them for one split second... got totally excited, I was like making a "YAY" expression on my face (whatever that looks like) and peeps on the boat were like "YAY" also, got over excited and fell straight back into the water. After that my legs were really tired and couldn't get back up again! Oh well. Next time.

So the weekend was spent lazing around in the sun on the top decks of the boats, eating, jetskiing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, barefooting, and tanning for most people. For me it was eating, lazing, watching people waterski, wakeboard and barefoot, and tanning.

Ben wakeboarding!

James wakeboarding and I'm sitting at the bow of the boat. Bow rider, baby!

Chillin' on the deck of the boat. Mike, Nat & James.

Ben & Mike

Daniel's hot new speedboat (taken from the top of his houseboat).

Awesome CHERRIES! We got cherries on the way up to Eildon. They are awesome.

Was a very awesome weekend. So relaxing. It was nice to get away and do nothing for an entire weekend. I haven't gone away since uni finished... and so it was a great way to chillax off the hard work. Thanks Ben for yet another cool weekend!!!

Stupidest SONG.
11/19/2006 06:13:00 PM

So I've like come across one of the stupidest songs in the world. I usually don't get much opportunity to come across stupid songs because I'm highly selective in what I hear but since my bro has taken over my car, he's changed all the radio presets (i.e.: now featuring a horde of commercial radio stations, much to my absolute disgust). So I turned on the engine of my car and heard the stupidest lyrics in the world...

"Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair"

Maybe there was a very brief period of which I might have accidentally skimmed past whereby punk rockers actually wore flowers in their hair then realised that it didn't at all fit with their anarchist ideals... but when the fuck did punk rockers wear FLOWERS in their hair? Like, wtf, man!

"In 77 and 69 revolution was in the air,
I was born too late into a world that doesn't care"

Two completely different decades, two completely different 'movements'. Peace, anarchy, anarchy, peace... anyone? And umm, hello, people STILL DO care, if not even more so than before. No one gave a shit about the environment back in 69, otherwise things today would have been different. It SEEMED like people cared because it was the trend at the time. Think about it. Teenagers in 69 will be what... about 50-60 years old now? If they really DID care about a revolution, the world will be revolutionised NOW because the whole world is being run by these peeps. The whole 'peace' thing was in most cases just some thing they did cos it was 'cool' and as soon as they hit 25 and realised that they had to work and earn a living, they got sucked into the capitalist world, the 'rat race' if you will, and lost all their beliefs that they thought they had. Only those who REALLY cared still do good today... but these people aren't the masses. Trend, peoples.

"When the head of state didn't play guitar"

What the fuck is that supposed to mean. What's wrong with the head of state playing guitar??? And what made them not play guitar back in "69" and "77"??

"Not everybody drove a car"

Maybe this is the least stupidest line, but in spirit of my 'bag the shit out of this song' mood, I'm just going to say that cars at the time weren't as affordable as they are now and the economy back then wasn't as strong. If cars were affordable and public transport wasn't so shit and expensive, we'd see a different trend there.

"When music really mattered and when radio was king"

Well, with songs like this out on the market I am not surprised music doesn't matter now. Fuck me. Music STILL matters, just ask the talented few.

"When accountants didn't have control"

Since when accountants ever had control? As far as I know, they are always working for other people.

"And the media couldn't buy your soul"

Well, this song isn't helping it either is it?? Being played 92349910238394 times on the radio a day, this song is depleting the intelligence of young children and teaching them wrong music history and history in general, sandwiched between 3000 ads. Now don't tell me that isn't buying your soul. And what about those ads back then in the 60s!! They were fucking lame yet everyone believed in them and that's why stuff sold...! Like in the 50s or something - "Buy WHITE GOODS, like this brilliant FRIDGE for your home and you will suddenly feel domesticated! All wives should have this latest washing machine because you ain't a wife if you ain't got the Super-Fast-Spin-Wash-3000!" Like that isn't buying your soul. I mean, in Karl Marx's "The Communist Manifesto", he outlines that advertising bought your soul and that true individuality is lost because advertising makes everyone feel they want things that they don't need. Wants are becoming needs. And when was this manisfesto written? Well, it was first published in 1848. 1848, peoples. The media was buying your soul a very long time ago. AND, to top that off, I'm sure people are more sceptical NOW to biased news channels than ever before.

"And computers were still scary and we didn't know everything."

Computers back then were huge but weren't monster-like and I haven't heard of a computer ever biting anyone. And we STILL don't know everything, that is why we have education - to learn and discover new things. This person obviously has not had any education, thinking that we already KNOW everything, and hence why this song is so bad.

"When pop-stars still remained a myth"

Pop stars remained a myth? Erm, The Beatles, Elvis Prestley, etc etc?

"And ignorance could still be bliss"

Ignorance is always bliss. I bet she wasn't freaking out about global warming before she watched that Al Gore doco!

"And when God Saved the Queen she turned a whiter shade of pale"

What? People are STILL conservative, y'know.

"When my mom and dad were in their teens"

Yes, that's true. Now stick to the truth, please.

"And anarchy was still a dream"

You want to be a punk rocker but anarchy was still a dream? What kind of punk rocker are you?? Oh yeah... one with flowers in her hair, that's it. And besides, you said "77"... the days of anarchy, my dear.

"And the only way to stay in touch was a letter in the mail"

And telephone!

"When record shops were still on top,
And vinyl was all that they stocked
And the super info highway was still drifting out in space"

I bet she doesn't even own one piece of vinyl, let alone a record player.

"Kids were wearing hand me downs,
And playing games meant kick around
And footballers still had long hair and dirt across their face"

Yeah, I'm not complaining about these lines. I would have spewed if this song got any more ridiculous.

LAME LAME LAME song. I heard it again at work (omg, the MUSIC IS SO BAD AT WORK I WANT TO THROW MYSELF INTO A POOL OF SHARKS WITH FRICKIN LASER BEAMS ATTACHED TO THEIR HEADS) and I wanted to stab the speakers.

Seriously... there is SO MUCH GOOD music out there. I can list 100s of aweomse artists right now. SOOOOOOOO MUCH GOOD MUSIC. So WHY DOES SHIT LIKE THIS MAKE IT TO THE TOP?!??!

And so it's things like this that make me shun mainstream music and commercial stations in general because this shit is fucked up.

There. I rest my case.

Happy Birthday Bennnyyyyy!!
11/12/2006 06:52:00 PM

Ok so before I post some piccies from Ben's b'day, I just want to make a very quick announcement. I HAVE OFFICIALLY COMPLETED MY TWO DEGREES! Ahhhhh! Very happy and oh so excited. On Friday arvo I sat my very last Monash exam paper (hopefully). It was a long and stupid exam paper - i.e.: friggin easy but oh so tedious. I full on ran out of time... but I guess I would have only lost 1 mark for running out of time so I don't really care. ANYWHO... I walked out of the exam room a little flustered because I was writing like freak on E but it didn't take long for the realisation to kick in that that was the last time I'd ever have to do an exam at the Caulfied Racecourse!!! And... my last exam, ever, pretty much.

I was walking to my car with a crazy-ass stupid smile on my face and my head was just going "Omg omg omg I'm done. I'm done. I'M DONE, MOTHER FUCKERS!" And y'know, I just felt so hmm.... like... sorta powerful, in a sense. Now I'm 'qualified', no longer some university student working towards a degree. I HAVE my degree(s)! And the most exciting part of it is... I don't have a job. Can you believe it? I'm actually feeling very excited about the fact that I don't have a job! No commitments, I have all the time now to explore things and figure out what I really want to do. I know I was whinging before about how I don't have a job... well, that's cos I was just worried in terms of career security. Hopefully I'll still be able to go to Germany. And then I'll sort myself out later.

OK! So back to the purpose of this post. Last night Ben had his b'day drinks at Platform 3 in Richmond and it was a whole lotta fun. Everyone was getting really hammered except for me because I was DRIVING. But there was no other way I could have gotten there so I can't complain! Would have loved to have done some shots with Steve and Jess who were having a big marathon drinking night. Towards the end of the night though, four of us were getting pumped for some Jager shots but the bar ran out of Jager! Like what the.

Anywho, here's some piccies. Ben was pretty wasted already cos of the races. Hehehehehe ;). On his actual b'day we went to St Kilda for dinner at this restaurant called Mash on Fitzroy St. It was lovely and had yummy cocktails. And... the BEST bangers and mash in town, I swear. Hands up. Happy Birthday Ben! Looking forward to Eildon :) :) :)

Ugh.
11/08/2006 10:38:00 PM

I went to uni today. I have some small issues for my last subject's exam this friday that I had to clear up with my tutor. It is a commerce subject and so the tutor is located in the Menzies building. I was 15 mins late and so I thought I'd better park in the Arts carpark to save me walking 2 kilometers from the Engineering carpark.

I try to avoid the Arts carpark as much as possible. This is partly due to two reasons.

1. I have bad experiences in the Arts carpark. Back in first and second years when the Engineering multilevel was still being constructed, I circled this damn multilevel like a freak on crack looking for a park. And this is 10am. So basically... if I had class later than 10am, there was NO chance I'd find a park anywhere at uni. I also never had friends parking there so I always walked to this carpark alone at the end of the day. Shithouse.

2. Many fond memories of the Engineering carpark (read post below re my love for my engineering degree over my commerce degree) makes me want to park there as much as possible before my uni days are over. I parked there everyday since the end of 2nd year and so it was like my car's second home :P It was my comfort zone ;) ;)

And when I thought I'll never get to park in the Arts carpark again (which was a major sigh of relief and a deep inner feeling of utter happiness), I had to park there today. What shiteness.

Even though it's the Arts carpark, it is no where near the Menzies. I bet I could walk to Menzies from Engineering carpark in less time. The Arts Carpark is a SHAM. Just because it was the very first multilevel carpark at uni doesn't mean it reigns superior over the Engineering multilevel which is 4 floors and can take approximately over 1000 cars. So NER.

Ok... so you can tell I am really bored when I start bitching about carparks. I'm just so over studying for this subject. I wish this exam was tomorrow so I can get it over and done with NOW! This is soooo unfair!

Tomorrow I'm heading off to RMIT to apply for yet another university course. Y'see, in order to do this Germany thing, I have to be a student at RMIT so I've applied for this post-grad Graduate Certificate in Engineering Management. I want to get my application in on time (even though I don't even know whether I AM going to Germany yet - yes it's been delayed ONCE again... to mid-Nov) because I applied for a 'Girlie discount' (as Ben refers it to as). What it is is instead of paying full fee, which is what I would be doing otherwise, as a female studying a 'non-traditional course' (i.e.: engineering), I get to do the course as a discounted HECS course instead of full-fee. Wooohoo. All those years of being called a 'lesbian' is finally paying off :P... EAT THAT, BOYZ.

Anywhoo... I had to pull out my VCE documentation for the application. Man... did I feel like I was starting uni all over again. I looked at my preferences that I had put in and they are as follows...

1. Engineering/Commerce (University of Melbourne)
2. Commerce/Engineering (Monash University)
3. Deans Scholar for Engineering (Monash University)
4. Engineering/Arts (University of Melbourne)
5. Arts/Engineering (Monash University)
6. Science/Engineering (Monash University)
7. Engineering/Science (University of Melbourne)
8. Civil Engineering/Bus. Mngmt (RMIT)

As you can see I was very undecided about which Uni I wanted to go to! I was very tempted to put my number 2 preference as my number 1 (Monash instead of Melbourne Uni) because I loved the facilities of Monash's engineering. But I ended up putting Melbourne Uni first because: a. it's so much closer to my house than Monash is, b. all my friends are going to Melbourne! AND I had the ENTER to get me into it... xept it turned out that that year the ENTER for the course went up by a whole 1 ENTER score meaning that I missed out by .1 - I nearly died. Yet at the same time, I wasn't too upset. I was just miffed that I had to start making friends all over again :P

Well it worked out just fine and man... can u imagine just how different things would have been if I weren't at Monash? I think fate brought me there because the year after, the ENTER for Commerce/Eng at Melbourne fell back down to where it was 2 years earlier. So some strange force really wanted me to go to Monash... but I'm so not complaining! Thank you strange force!!!!!!!!

Bachelor of Engineering - Status: Complete!
11/07/2006 11:28:00 PM

Yesterday I sat my very last engineering exam paper. That's it. I'm done. Provided I pass all my subjects (I don't feel that I have failed... touch wood... (hehehehe... 'wood')), I have completed everything that is required to earn my Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree - all the subjects (35 subjects in total - that's fucking huge for a single degree. 53 subjects total if you include my Commerce degree), 3 months of vacation work, and my thesis. It's an awesome feeling. All that hard work is now over. It's really surreal... I always feel there's something to come after this... like more study... more learning of complex physics and engineering theories... but nope... I'm now considered a fully qualified mechanical engineer!

I went through so much crap for this degree. All those early mornings, all those three hour labs, all those brain frying assignments, all that sitting through the lectures (the good and the (very) bad) that go on about the Navier Stokes equation, bending moments, Laplace transformations, the Fourier series, hydraulic jumps, entropy, enthalpy and pressure, the Nusselt number, vortices, aerodynamic drag, stress and strain, torsion, gears, compression, tension, the Stefan Boltzman constant, angular velocity, the Reynolds number, the Froude number, boundary layers, turbulence, laminar flow, hydrostatic pressure, radiation, convection, conduction, compressors, boilers, turbines, heat exchangers, Java programming, Matlab, HYSIS, Solid Edge, OFFERS, hoop stress, flow past immersed bodies, open channel flow, temperature, calculus, the Weibull distribution, denoising, despiking, degapping, Warman, engineering standards, Gaussian distribution, Taylor's Series, the second moment of area, the I beam.... (can I go on forever or what???)... is ALL OVER.

Phew. Y'know, as much as I feel like "that's it???", just reminiscing on all the stuff that I have learnt over the last five years... I'm totally thinking "Well fuck yeah I deserve this degree, girlfriend!!" Not to mention that as of this Friday, I would have completed my Commerce degree... so on top of that engineering stuff, I'm a 'financier' (LOL LOL)... For some strange reason... my Commerce degree is sorta tucked away in the corner growing cobwebs. I'm just so much more involved with Engineering that Commerce just feel so out of place and kinda like "Oh, I forgot all about you, Commerce... what dark corner did you pop out from??"

I seriously would not even to comprehend what my uni life would be like if I did straight Commerce or Arts/Commerce or something (sorry all of my friends who are doing this, but that is how I feel... haha). University life for me would be so boring comparatively. This would be mainly attributed to the very low university contact hours and the fact that SOOOOOOO many people do commerce and/or arts that finding a big group of very close friends is somewhat harder. Friends come and go a lot more often in Commerce because everyone does different subjects. This is the exact opposite in Engineering and because of that, I am rarely alone at uni. Like... I don't even remember the last time I was at uni and hanging out by myself. I always had friends during my breaks and the same friends would go to class with me. The only times I'm ever alone is when I have a break before a Commerce subject, of which none of my friends do. This is partly why I don't ever remember doing homework or study at Uni during breaks (except when I was working on my thesis recently). I think it was 2nd year when I actually went to the library myself to do some tute work to kill time.

Seriously... mechanical engineering has been the most fun... there's only 40 or so students in final mech eng so it's easy to get to know everyone. Not to mention our field trip to the Snowy River! That REALLY made us get to know one another (Read: Fittsy and his utter carelessness, Weeksy and his snoring, Cahill and his great chefness, Brenton and his peach schapps schlapping, Mike and his sensitive lips, Misch and all her annoyingness (though, we already knew this), etc etc).

I know I'm raving about this so much... but it's sooo good to always have group of awesome people on hand who are willing to have coffee or go for a beer at any time of the day and then going to class where people know your name. Hehehe... I loved it when I did Systems and Control... shitty subject, but I think there were like 8 of my friends including myself who did that subject together and we'd take up a whole row of lecture seats... and we'd pass notes along the row and I'd be working a crossword with Andrew and shoving it over to Brendan when we were sick of trying to work it out... and then knowing we're going to the pub together that night for more beer. Shit like that never happened in Commerce. It was like sitting in a huge lecture theatre of strangers most of the time... comparatively.

I think having done the double degree really made me see the difference by contrasting the two degrees and how a university experience for one person may not be the same for another - even if they were in the same uni. Each degree is so different!

And for that, I'm so glad I chose to do mechanical engineering at Monash. Friggin' hard course... but a fun journey nevertheless. I have made some very awesome friends whom I cannot imagine living without. I see them so often over the past few years that they are my life, really! Uni is now over but seeing my friends is something I hope will never change.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE!
11/05/2006 01:58:00 AM

I am dedicating this post to a very very very oh so dear friend Michael all the way in Cambridge, UK because today IS HIS BIRTHDAY!

Mike... how do I even begin to say what an awesome guy he is. Mike will always be there for you whenever you need him... this is such a cliched thing to say, but I really mean it. Always. Endless conversations with Mike is not uncommon. This caring and articulate individual has an intelligence that is mind blowing. He's a post-grad at Cambridge studying and researching on autism in children under a supervisor that is soo friggin prominent in the psychology world. He writes music. He plays guitar. He has a fucking great taste in almost everything. He's half Japanese, half Italian - he's got the best of both worlds. He has incredible EQ... which most guys aren't lucky enough to naturally possess. He knows when I'm upset, he knows when I'm truly happy. Whenever I have a problem, he's one guy to turn to.

Mike is also one of the few people in the world who truly believes in my abilities. This is what he wrote to me on my birthday. Sent to my inbox... the first thing I read when I woke up that day. Underneath the gushing and the blushing was a huge huge smile on my face.

George!

Happy birthday babe! Just wanted to send you my warmest best thoughts your way and hope you have the best-est of birthdays. I'm so proud to know such a wonderful human being. The honest truth is that I have bragged about you to several people I know. It went something like this:

"Somewhere out there is the most perfect chick. Someone who is stunning in appearance, and even more stunning in when you dig beneath the layers of AX of other fashionable clothing. That someone is such a smarty art person. Someone who is double majoring in finance and engineering, yet is tremendously talented in art. Her art tickles the fancy of whoever has a soul. She also has the coolest tastes in music, and has an encyclopedic knowledge of music. Beyond this she designs her own clothes, which I have to say contribute even more to her gorgeous-ness. On top of all that, she is extremely well cultured, sensitive, caring, and the most fun to talk to (because she exudes excitement and vigor for life). I know this particular chick. She is Chinese, yet lives in Australia... And one day, she will be a person who significantly affects the lives of millions of people."

Cheers to you George and have the greatest of b-days.

Mike

PS. There is absolutely no exaggeration at all in anything I said up there. Its all from the heart. Peace.

I'm not trying to brag that this is the person I am, but this is an example what kind of friend Mike is... and how lucky I am to have him in my life. He reminds me of who I am when my self confidence and self esteem runs low (often). He keeps me on track with my goals and what I'm here on Earth for. And if you knew Mike, you would know that he's not just some 'yes-man', some guy who tells me what I want to hear. He's genuine to the core and he often tells me when I'm wrong and when I'm being an utter dickhead ;) Okay, maybe he doesn't call me a dickhead... but he does tell me when I'm fucking things up. Go constructive criticism! ;)

Mike makes friends wherever he goes because he's just that kinda guy. Mike, the best of luck for your studies in Cambridge and finding your way around your new home for the next few years. I hope your American accent doesn't make life difficult for you ;) (Hmm.... now why would it?? Oh, I don't know!!!!!) Thank you for everything... I really can't match what you have given me but I promise that one day I will make it up to you :)

Happy Birthday again, dude... Have the most awesome day :)

Always here when you need me,
xoxoxxoxo G

Exam period sucks. Period.
11/04/2006 01:10:00 PM

Man, this exam time has been dragging on forever. I thought it would be so cool because all my exams are pretty much a week apart but seriously, my last two exams... are piss easy. And I've already pretty much finished studying for them. Well, sort of. It's enough for me to pass and I'm just over studying for them that I'm far too lazy to study more. Y'see, the reason I get fairly okay grades with minimal study is that I believe that when it comes to the exam, my brain will be able to figure something out. And it's never failed me. So yeah... that's been my strategy since god knows when.

I guess also the end of my university and studying days is nigh. In 6 days I will be done with my course forever! And I'm sooooo looking forward to that. I know I said I was sad that uni is finishing... but it was the lifestyle I missed. The bludging, the beer drinking, the constantly being with your friends. Not the assignments, the late nights and the exams! Sometimes I get sick of the bludginess because I get bored. This happens usually towards the end of the big summer break where I'm just craving for a routine and to start learning again. But when uni starts and I'm meant to be starting to learn again, I look forward to the bludginess. So really, my whole uni experience was a mix of give and take. But I got through!

So thinking about all this... a few more days of study isn't going to kill me. I'm going to miss the routine of 'learning' and I may as well savour the moment and apply myself fully for my last two exams and exit with a huge bang.

Yeah right!
