Tattoo Top #1

The current clothing range on the market doesn't quite meet my requirements at the moment, i.e.: reveal my tatt, so I'd thought I'd make something! The following is a $13.00 top that I had bought. I like the colour - it is 2 sizes too big for me deeming it perfect to muck around with and create something unique.

Taking out my Andy Warhol Idea Book (basically a fancy sketch book for you to draw in with the Andy Warhol theme to keep you inspired) that I bought in New York, I drew up the plan.

Originally I wanted to write the words "I'm Famous in New York" (just for fun) but I changed it in the end. In the mean time, there's some cutting up that needs to be done. I drew up a bit of a template and cut it out, then tying the two loose ends together.

Satisfied with the cut-out, I cut the front into a v-neck, sewed a red button on my sleeve and painted the back of it. Paint: A half-half mix of textile medium and ordinary acrylic paint. Ironing it sets the paint in (cured by the heat) and will never ever wash off.

The end result:

I bought this red button at Lincraft. It looked cool but I had no idea where to put it. It looked vibrant against this blue and so I chucked it on the sleeve. I believe it is quite cute.

Cutting up the front into a v-neck just made it look so much sexier.

The back.

Inspired, I'm currently working on another piece. It's currently in the process of drying. A little more complex, that one - and so it will take me much longer to compelte.
