Wile E. Coyote - super genius!

Ahhhh! I just spent the morning watching some Looney Toons whilst eating breakfast. I was in the mood for cartoons but the Simpsons weren't on and neither was Futurama or Family Guy and there was nothing good on Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon (kiddie cartoons are so shit nowadays!). I pulled out this really old Looney Toons tape that I used to watch when I was a kid. First half of the tape was some crime fightin' related episodes -- absolutely hilarious "Shut nup! When I say shut nup I mean shut nup! Shut nup!", "Ah don't knows how youse dit it but I knows youse dit it!" -- Classic.

The second half was the Coyote and Roadrunner episodes. I don't know whether Warner Brothers still make these shows but I seriously have not seen kiddie cartoons as good as this for a long long time. With kiddie cartoons today, they just try to be too smart because the creators feel that kids are growing up quicker and won't appreciate stupid jokes like this:

Or this...

And this...

This tape is gold, I can watch it forever!!

I also bought John Frusciante's new album. In fact, I bought 2. I bought "DC EP" last week. It is a very short EP (around 15 minutes -- 4 songs) and its very lo-fi. It was accompanied by very simple and honest lyrics, which are my favourite. Sometimes you just get sick of heavy metaphors all the time and just want to get straight to the point. His lead guitar is as beautiful yet again and there's a lot of interesting synthesizer work. I think. I get confused -- haha. He has released so many albums this year, I'm confused to which one I'm talking about sometimes! I have been listening to "The Will To Death" a whole lot lately. It's my favourite. Anyway, so this week I bought "The Inside Of Emptiness" -- yes, I know, the name of his albums sound very depressing, but the music isn't, really. He's just so brutally honest.

Listening to Frusciante always makes me feel incredibly philosophical. It gets me thinking about life in ALL aspects and I find that rather enlightening. So far, there is no artist/musician that taps me into such a realm or 'frame of mind'. Instrumentally, the music just creates this strange yet serene ambience for me -- like I'm floating in an aura in which I belong to. His lyrics aren't strong in terms of vocabulary, but it is nevertheless poetic and somewhat meaninglessly meaningful. I have no idea what he is singing about 3/4 of the time, but I have this deeper understanding. It's like my soul understands the music, but my mind doesn't. This is what connects me.

So. I better be off to clean up my room. I can't wait to just pack away all my uni books!! It's the best feeling (although, I'm not sure whether I have passed CAE... so better not speak too soon). I'm also going to listen to "The Inside Of Emptiness" as I haven't yet.

OH OH OH and how can I forget? I have also purchased Halo 2 -- it is brilliant! But I'm just so crap at it that most of the time I just watch my brother play. I started my own game, but I am too scared to continue -- some of the stages really freak you out! I just keep throwing grenades at the aliens because I bad at shooting. Then I run out of grenades, so I shoot. Then I run out of ammo, so I call my brother. And the cycle continues.

Byee byee!!
